About The Library

Plummer Public Library serves the city of Plummer and the surrounding area residents of Benewah and Kootenai/ Shoshone counties.  Your CIN card is valid at other area libraries including Post Falls, St. Maries, Hayden, Harrison, Rathdrum, Spirit Lake, Athol, the Silver Valley and more.

To apply for a library card, you need photo id, proof of current residency, and a valid phone number.

Plummer Library is a member of Inland Northwest Library Group,  Cooperative Information Network, and OCLC which gives you much broader access to materials outside of the local collection.

The Library Services section of this website provides information about services available in the library as well as services you can access from your own home and how to order materials outside the local library.

The staff at Plummer Library is at your service and welcomes your reference questions by phone (686-1812), email or in person.

The library offers a variety of programs throughout the year such as the summer reading program, pre-school story time, Idaho Family Reading Week activities and Internet Demonstrations for beginners and Senior Citizens.  Click on the “Library Programs” section to find out more.

Friends of the Library is an active group of volunteers who support the library by fundraising efforts and advocacy.  New members are always welcome.

Plummer Public Library has been in operation since 1938.  Voters approved a $500,000 bond in 2008 to help fund a new building, and along with the hardworking volunteer efforts and  USDA grant,  enough funds were raised to reach the goal.  The library opened in its present location on July 5th, 2010.
